KRAIG Lecture Series
The society conducts a series of lecture in-house and outstation on almost all aspects of robotics so that interested students can comfortably make their own machines and participate in various robotics competition countrywide.
In-house Lectures
The lectures are spread in the months of August and September i.e. the beginning of the session on diverse topics ranging from hardware design aspects to machine vision & intelligence.These lectures have been a huge success for the past two years as they were attended by over 400 undergraduates and provided many of them an initial impetus to go ahead and make their own robots for robotics competitions.
Out-Station Lectures
The society organizes lectures in a number of cities and towns in Eastern India. In the academic year 05’-06’ we organized lectures in Science City -Kolkata, ISM- Dhanbad, BIT-Ranchi, NIT-Rourkela, NIT-Durgapur, Kalinga Institute of Technology-Bhubneshwar, The lectures were attended by over 3000 students in these cities. The lectures also got featured in a number of newspapers.
Winter Workshop
In order to build a sound knowledge base among the junior members of the society, a workshop is held during winter vacation. It happens to be an intensive program where the finer and complicated aspects of technology are exposed to them. Besides, the members are also trained as to how to make a working model and how to handle the practical problem associated with that.
Participation in Engineering Competitions
The society sends its team for participation in robotics competitions in various technical festivals like KSHITIJ at IIT Kharagpur, Techfest at IIT Bombay, Techkriti at IIT Kanpur and Engineering fares like the one organized by Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, Kolkata. In many of these endeavors , our teams have performed superbly. The prizes won are listed in the achievement’s gallery.
Development of prototypes of new products
After having developed a strong base of technical know-how, the group has been working aggressively on design and developments of products related to robotics and automation which are either cost-effective and provide low cost automation in various day to day affairs or which have social cause attached to them.
