With a view to promote the spirit of Robotics in the student community of the country, The Robotix Team of IIT Kharagpur also conducts technical workshops all around the year.

The annual robotics workshop held at the G D Birla Sabhaghar , in Kolkata on the 30th of September was met with a gigantic turn up of students. It was overwhelming that the workshop interested participation not only from Kolkata but from institutes scattered all over the eastern region. It was highly gratifying to see such an enthusiastic and responsive audience.
The hard core intricacies of robotics were explained to the audience through a mixture of illustrative slides , videos and live demonstrations of the robots made by our team. In the question and answer round, everyone brought forth their queries and got an insight into how you make a start in the field of robotics.
We are extremely grateful to all of the more than 900 people who showed so much zest in coming to the workshop. But due to the lack of infrastructure of the auditorium, unfortunately, all of you could not be allowed to attend it. We understand your disappointment and are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.

The NIT Raipur workshop, conducted on 27Th November was a huge success thanks to the indomitable spirit and enthusiasm of the students. The auditorium was closely packed with students from Raipur as well as Bhilai and extra seating arrangements had to be made for the 350 odd people. The workshop focused on the fundamentals of mechanical and autonomous bots, covering sensors, motors and drivers. There were also numerous videos to supplement. The audience helped us make the program successfully interactive.It was very satisfying to see that everyone who left the hall had gained confidence that they could build a bot.

 

Another benchmark in the success story of robotix, the Bhopal workshop was conducted in SAC, MANIT Bhopal on 19th  October,2007 from 11 a.m. The workshop witnessed a turnout of about 300 students from various colleges including MANIT, UIT, LNCT, Oriental, RGPV, NRI, Bansal College of Engineering, Truba, TIT, and others.
The workshop included lectures on a gamut of fundamental robotics concepts including mechanical applications, sensors, microcontrollers, etc with the aid of a set of highly illustrative slide-shows. The videos of some exciting robots were also shown to the students with a brief overview of their underlying algorithms. The waxing on the cake was done by media coverage which spelt of the success of the workshop.
The Robotix team is thankful to all the students for their overwhelming support and enthusiastic participation in making this workshop an enriching experience.

 

The Robotix Workshop held in MNIT Jaipur on the 21st of October 2007, in association with the robotics community of MNIT called Xyne, received an overwhelming response of over 150 students, even on the festive holiday of Dussehra. Participation came from students in and around Jaipur, and their intense enthusiasm and passion made the workshop a grand success.
The exciting and challenging events of Robotix 2008, along with the technicalities of making a competitive robot were introduced to the audience. The participants put their knowledge and wit to the test in on-the-spot quizzes, and took away prizes to remind them of the memorable day.
The success story of the workshop was covered by the media. We wish to thank all the people who made this workshop a memorable experience.
Live Robotix events were promised to the Jaipurites in the month of December, but due to unavailability of dates because of the tight exam schedules of the colleges of Jaipur and around, the events had to be cancelled. But we assure to be back the next year, with better workshops and extremely exciting events.
