General Rules
At a time only one bot will be allowed inside the arena.
The bot will be placed at the edge of Perimeter A. Initial orientation and location at the perimeter is at the participant’s discretion.
The bot has to place the blocks in their respective shaped areas on the arena.
If the block is partially placed on the target area, i.e. only a fraction of it is inside the target area, it will still be considered as a block inside the target area.
Only power supply line and computer link lines will be allowed to the bot. These lines should remain slack throughout the event.
The participants will be provided with 220 Volt 50 Hz standard AC supply. Participants will have to themselves arrange for any other power supply required for their bot.
Participants will have to bring their own cameras and other sensory and lighting equipment. The arena will be having a standard classroom illumination. Any extra illumination will have to be provided by the participant.
Camera Stands and other such auxiliary equipment will not be provided by Robotix Team. Arrangement of camera and other such sensory equipment in the arena is the participant’s responsibility.
Participants are required to submit a brief write up on their bot (not exceeding 1500 words). It should mention any special algorithm, circuitry or any other unique feature which has been implemented on the bot. The Best Design Awards will be decided on the basis of these write ups. Participants must submit a hard copy of the write up at the beginning of the competition.
Timeout Rules
In case of a problem with the bot, the participant has an option of calling “Time Out”.
A maximum of 2 minutes will be given in each timeout. This time will not be considered in the net time the team takes to complete the objective.
Each team can call for a maximum of 3 timeouts only.
Each timeout will result in a deduction of 200 points from the score.
As soon as a timeout is called, the team should remove the bot outside the arena, without disturbing any of the blocks.
At the end of the timeout, the bot will have to start again from the edge of the perimeter A.
If a team takes more than 2 minutes in a time out, it will automatically be assumed that a second timeout has been called for (assuming that the team has another of the 3 timeouts remaining). If no timeouts are remaining, then the team stands disqualified.
Scoring Rules
For each box correctly placed in its corresponding shaped target areas will be awarded 1000 points.
For each box incorrectly placed in a target area, i.e. there is a mismatch in the shape of the block and the target area, 500 points will be deducted.
The final score will be (1000 X No of correctly placed blocks) - (500 X No of incorrectly placed blocks) – (Net time taken in seconds).
No penalty will be awarded if the blocks or the bot cross outside Perimeter A.
Maximum of 10 minutes will be given to each team to complete the objective.
Other Rules
Each team can consist of a maximum of 4 members.
The team members can be from different institutes or colleges.
The right spirit of participation is expected form the participants.
The decision of the ROBOTIX team will be final and binding.
